What a beautiful warm, sunny day.  The asian bettles are out in full force and the flies have come out of hibernation.  The bluejay screams "Mine Mine" as he comes to a landing on the feeding table and the little birds say, "I'll just wait my turn."  I took a walk in the field this morning.  The cows mooed at me and the donkeys hee-hawed.

How Rich I Am!

In Romans 8:32 it says God will give us all things along with his son, Jesus Christ.

I don't need attention.

I don't need recognition.

I don't need things.

I have all I need in Christ.

Harvest Time is a Special Time

Because of all the rain this fall Monday was the first day my men could get in the field.  I started my day Monday by making a crock pot full of vegetable soup, chopping the round steak into little chunks, peeling the carrots, chopping up all the vegetables, adding the spices and everything that goes in it, taking 2 hours, at least.  Hot soup is a good thing to have on hand, especially in the fall, simmering slowly all day long.

There.  Supper is taken care of.  I can do other fun stuff.  Like laundry, cleaning out my flower bed jungle, etc.  Around supper time Kevin stops by.  "Grandpa wants you to fix him a sandwich.  He's chopping corn and won't be in until after dark."

Aarrgghh!  I don't even have fixin's for a sandwich.  But I slice off 2 slabs of homemade bread, slap on some peanut butter and jam and send it with Kevin, telling him to stop by the duck house to get a can of pop.

Sometime after dark Al came home.  He did eat some soup.  After a bit he asks, "Do you have any cookies?"  "NO!"

Tuesday morning he says something about how nice I am and how he won't be in until late again and that he'd appreciate a sandwich again because he gets hungry around supper time but when he comes in late he is too tired to eat.  I know that to be true.  So I went to town and get good stuff, including smoked ham slices for sandwiches and buy some cookies and pop.  Last evening I fixed a good sack lunch for him and Kevin.

Al told me that sandwich really hit the spot!  Today I'm going to bake some cookies.

Helped in the nursery yesterday and loved it but I can't believe how weak I am.  I can lift the tiny babies and so enjoy holding all of them and rocking them.  The crawlers and walkers I cannot lift off the floor.  Someone has to place them in my arms!  Oh, me!

Okay, I emailed my "breakfast once a month" nurse friends yesterday to remind them that we were meeting this morning and meeting at a different place.  There are 6 of us and I knew one of them couldn't be there.  I got there first.  I waited a while then one other came.  We waited but no one else came.  We had a nice visit and went on our way.  When I got home my phone was flashing, telling me I had a message.  It was one of the missing girls (ladies).  She said she was waiting at the old place (which is now closed) and no one showed up.  Her husband had read the email and told her but didn't catch on to the fact that it was at a different restaurant.  Disappointing.   Better luck next time.

Last night I told my husband, "Don't let me eat breakfast in the morning because I'll be eating with my nurse friends and then I have a luncheon to go to at noon."  He asked with a chuckle, "Will you be home for supper?"  I said, "Unless I get another invitation."  Of course I didn't and am glad to be home.
